OPERATION STINKY BINKY

I'm catching up on some late things that have been going on (In October)... Operation Stinky Binky!!
Since Hailey turned 3, we knew it was time to get rid of the stinky binky once and for all. We did have it only for bedtime but  sometimes I would catch taking a quick suck on it in her room. When it becomes an addiction then it's got to go. Jc and I were nervous about really get rid of it, we have come to love our long relationship with our dear stinky binky. Stinky Binky has helped us with sickness, falling asleep for nap and bedtime, even with the whiny days. So, we were for sure that it was going to be long nights of crying when it was gone!! So we needed a game plan.....
1.) Figure good plan!!
2.) Talk (a lot) about plan - to convince Hailey this is what she needed to do
3.) Put plan in action

****PLAN****
~The day started off with collecting all 4 pink stinky binky's and putting in this colorful bucket. That way we could take them to Dr.M so she could give them to other little children who needed them,.
~ Then needed to make something to take the place of our dear stinky binky!!
MEET AURORA (the best spent $52 dollars). Hailey loved building her own bear dog!! She pick it out, stuffed it, picked out a expensive wonderful sleeping beauty princess dress, and named her - Aurora!!
~ Then with dog in hand, head to pediatricians office. She walked right in handed Dr.M her bucket of stinky binky's and told " I don't need these any more, I have to take care of Aurora now" ... WOW TOTALLY BLOWN AWAY, why did I wait so long to do this.
~ Then off to home - Mission Accomplished!!

** We only had one night of sort of crying and whining, maybe lasted 30 minutes. She never really mentions her stinky binky's, which tells me she was ready and old enough to understand. Doesn't even try to take Aubrey's. Now we just have a problem getting her to lay still enough to relax and go to sleep. Work in progress.
